The Charkop police have arrested a 40-year-old man yesterday for allegedly raping his two daughters, one of them a minor. The accused was repeatedly raping both his daughters inside his shanty, but his wife, who knew about this, never revealed this dastardly act to anyone, nor did she approach the cops.
According to the police, the arrested accused used to allegedly rape his 21-year-old and 12-year-old daughters whenever he found them alone. He used to target them when his wife was not present in the room.

The accused father had been raping his 21-year-old daughter now for more than 10 years, and he had been raping his minor daughter from the past two months and had raped her twice in this period.
The accused is a carpenter by profession and is a resident of Kandivli (west), which falls under the jurisdiction of the Charkop police station. The incident came to light when his elder daughter came to know that her father had started raping her younger sister too.
After that she, along with her neighbours, approached the Charkop police and narrated the entire incident to the cops. The police then summoned the father to the police station. Initially, he denied the allegation made by his elder daughter, but when his minor daughter also gave a statement against him, he was arrested.
According to police sources, the wife of the accused was aware about her husband’s activities and had warned him several times. The accused used to stop his activities after her warning, but used to start raping his daughters again after a few days.
The accused has been booked under several sections of the IPC including 376 and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
