Two auto drivers in Andheri were arrested for allegedly molesting and physically assaulting a 23-year-old college girl, after she insisted that driver of the auto she was sitting in, start the vehicle and take her to the station.
The girl registered a case with the D N Nagar police, after which the duo was arrested with the help of their licence plate numbers. The main accused has been identified as Shabad Iqbal Sheikh.

According to the police, the girl, a resident of Goregaon, had left her college in Andheri (West) last week, and sat in a share auto rickshaw bound for the station. Since she was getting late, the girl asked the auto driver, Sheikh, to start the vehicle.
When Sheikh refused, an argument ensued. Soon, another driver joined the altercation and the duo assaulted the girl and allegedly kicked her on her private parts. They even misbehaved with her and fled from the scene.
The girl received a few injuries; she was also extremely scared and traumatised by the incident. She later approached the police with her father and registered a first information report. With the help of the rickshaw number, police traced the accused and arrested them.
Senior PI R Chavan of D N Nagar police station said, “The accused have been arrested. There was an argument with the girl, and auto drivers assaulted her. We have booked the duo for molestation and physical assault.” Police said Sheikh is a history-sheeter and a druggie.
