Eunuchs render woman unconscious, flee with gold worth Rs 8 lakh

Beware of people who come knocking on your door asking for water or any help. Charkop police has launched a massive manhunt to nab two unidentified eunuch robbers, between 30 to 40 years, who entered a local’s house asking for water, rendered her unconscious with a liquid substance and then decamped with gold jewellery worth over Rs 8 lakh.

On Saturday evening, the two eunuchs knocked on the door of Hetal Jethwa (30), a housewife who resides in Bhagya Kalp Housing Society in Kandivli West. They asked her for a glass of water. When Hetal returned from the kitchen after fetching it, they spritzed her face with a liquid that made her unconscious. The duo then marched into her home and robbed the jewellery.

Home alone
Hetal resides with husband Tejas, father-in-law Harish, mother-in-law Pravina and two children – 10-year-old son Shyaam and 5-year-old daughter Priya. When the heist occurred, Hetal was alone at home as Pravina had gone to the market and her kids were playing outside.

Pravina said, “I came back at around 8 pm and found Hetal lying unconscious on the floor. The cupboard was open and the ornaments were missing. I poured water on Hetal’s face to help her regain consciousness but she was not responding.”

She added, “Meanwhile, a neighbour came to help and we rushed Hetal to the hospital. She regained consciousness around midnight, and narrated the entire incident to the police.”

A case has been registered under Sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc, with intent to commit an offence) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC, said an officer from Charkop police station.
