A 25-year-old accused, brought to Samta Nagar police station in Kandivli East for allegedly attempting to kidnap a 17-year-old girl, escaped within hours of being brought in on Friday morning. With him, he took along the plastic chair to which he was handcuffed.
According to senior police inspector Dilip Yadav, the accused had been brought to the police station for questioning. “He escaped before we could interrogate him.”
