Mumbai crime: Man held for molesting his three daughters
The Meghwadi police arrested a 45-year-old man on Friday night for molesting his three daughters over the last nine months. Police said the accused’s two friends were also involved in the act. According to the cops, the accused’s wife had died 10 months ago.
Following this incident, he started molesting his daughters, aged 16, 18 and 20 respectively, at his Jogeshwari residence. He also threatened them with dire consequences if they reported the incident to anyone.
A police officer from the Meghwadi police station said, on condition of anonymity, “After his wife’s demise, the accused started consuming alcohol at his residence on a daily basis. He also started calling his two friends to give him company.”
He added that on Friday night, the three girls were fighting with their father at their residence after he allegedly molested them. One of the neighbours, Reshma Khan, managed to save the girls and brought them to the Meghwadi police station.
A complaint was filed on Friday night on the basis of the three girls’ account following which their father was arrested. He will be produced in holiday court on Sunday.
Police said the man’s two friends have also been booked for misbehaving with the three girls. The cops are yet to nab them. Police will arrest them soon.
