In a tragic incident a woman was raped repeatedly by her brother-in-law for over nine months under the pretext of defaming her. The man, her 35-year-old brother-in-law worked as an auto driver and would visit the woman’s home and threaten the 40-year-old woman, whose husband is mentally challenged as per reports by Hindustan Times.

A police officer said, “In February, the woman’s husband was admitted to Thane mental hospital. The driver came home when she was alone and demanded his share in the property. She said she would hire an advocate for that. Enraged, the accused raped her.” He added that since then the auto driver had repeatedly raped and threatened the woman.


After nine months of being sexually abused, the woman finally mustered up the courage and lodged a complaint against him. The police officer said, “He was arrested immediately. We have sent the two for a medical examination.”
