Mumbai Crime: Note reveals rape by relative led to advocate's suicide

The Malad police have found a suicide note left by a 25-year-old advocate, who killed herself by jumping from her house on the 22nd floor in a high-rise on Sunday. She has written that she was raped in a car by her relative in Gujarat, which is why she was killing herself. The police have sent a team to Gujarat to arrest the accused.

According to the police, in the month of March, she had gone to Gujarat with her parents after giving a law exam. In Gujarat, her relative named Harshad took her for a ride in his car. Police said she had written that he stopped the car in a jungle and locked it from inside and raped her.

After raping her Harshad dropped her and threatened her to not inform anyone about the incident. The woman was depressed for the past two months but she didn’t recount the incident to her parents. Police said on Sunday morning, she began to cry and revealed the incident to her parents.
