A 19-year-old beautician was kidnapped in an auto rickshaw and molested by two drunk men for half an hour at Kandivli (West) on Saturday night. Police said one of the accused had proposed to the girl a few days ago but she had refused him.

A case has been registered with the Kandivli police and they are in search of the duo, who have run away. The accused, identified as Ameen Sheikh (23) and Haider Khan (25), are residents of Ganesh Nagar at Kandivli (West). Both work in private firms. The main accused, Haider had proposed to the victim but she refused him.
The girl said, “On Saturday around 9.30 pm I was returning home after work at a beauty parlour. As soon as I stepped out, Haider and Ameen followed me in an auto rickshaw and suddenly they dragged me into it. Both were drunk and started molesting me in the running auto rickshaw.”
She added, “The auto driver didn’t even stop the vehicle to help me. They also beat me up badly in the auto rickshaw after molesting me. I sustained injuries on my face and lips.” Her mother said, “On Saturday night I saw the injuries on my daughter’s face and asked her about them, but she didn’t tell me about the incident.
On Sunday, when I asked her why she was quiet, she revealed everything and we informed the police.” PSI Bhushan Thoke of Kandivli police station said, “We are recording the girl’s statement. We are also searching for the auto driver.”
