Truck kills 2-year-old in Vikhroli
Two-year-old Vidushi Singh was run over by a speeding truck at Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli, on Monday night. Residents alleged that they have been requesting the traffic police to ban heavy vehicles on Ramakant Deshmukh Marg, where the incident took place, as it is a narrow, accident-prone lane.
But the authorities have not taken any action so far. The locals nabbed the accused driver, who they alleged was drunk. ACP Noormohammad Mulani of Vikhroli police station said, “The accused was caught by the angry mob. We have taken a blood sample of the accused and are waiting for the report, after which action will be taken.”
