The former MLA and his workers barged into the premises after a shop owner complained that the party had encroached his space
Former Ulhasnagar MLA and Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act detenu Suresh alias Pappu Kalani is in the line of fire again. After he was held and later released on bail for assaulting two civic officials on Tuesday, he has now been accused of ransacking the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) newly-opened office in Ulhasnagar and thrashing the party’s leaders.

On Friday night, Ulhasnagar-1 police registered three FIRs against Kalani and MNS workers. According to the police, shop owner Mukesh Jeswani had complained to Kalani against MNS city vice president, Dinesh Ahuja, stating that the latter had encroached his shop and set up the party office there. On Friday night around 10pm Kalani along with his supporters barged into the MNS office, ransacked it and also thrashed office bearers and visitors.
Ahuja filed a complaint against Kalani, following which the latter, his bodyguards and followers were booked under sections 448, 143, 147, 149, 323 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). “We will arrest them soon,” said an investigating officer.
On the basis of Jeswani's complaint, cops have also arrested MNS city president Sachin Kadam, Ahuja and other party workers. While all the other accused have got bail, Ahuja is still in custody.
“Kalani ransacked our office. The police falsely booked us. Ahuja’s matter is a legal issue,” said Kadam. Despite repeated attempts, Kalani was not available for comment. u00a0
