Motorists and office goers passing through Dahisar toll plaza had a horrifying time on Wednesday morning. Traffic officials revealed that a surprise octroi check was conducted by BMC officials yesterday midnight, as a result which heavy container trucks were parked on the road, affecting the traffic flow.
Heavy traffic snarls were reported during peak hours on Wednesday. “BMC conducted a surprise check and those issued a penalty parked their vehicle on the roads. This led to heavy traffic jam today morning,” said an official from the city traffic department.

The Dahisar toll plaza is one of the busiest toll plazas, and comes under the five entry points of Mumbai. It is looked upon by Mumbai Entry Points Limited (MEPL).
Officials from traffic department further revealed that the traffic situation at the spot was not in complete control till 12 pm, and that they are trying their best to reduce congestion.
