The HT report added that the trio met Mann in a hotel at Grant Road on December 7. The latter told them to meet him a couple of days later with the money near German consulate in Nariman Point, and added that he would get visa for them. Mann also told them to carry their files with documents for the visas.

As decided they victims and the accused met some days later. Mann took 5,500 euros and Rs 19,500, a total equivalent to Rs 4.5 lakh, as well as the documents from them. Mann then went in saying someone will come out with a token, and take them inside for the visas, the report added.
