Upset over being teased about a girl he liked, a 22- year- old man stabbed the youth who was teasing him, leading to the latter's death
A 22-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for stabbing another man to death after a fight over a girl. The deceased, Jeetu Godavaria, was teasing Riyaz Sheikh about the fact that a girl whom Riyaz liked, was now dating Jeetu’s friend instead.

According to the cops, Jeetu’s friend Firoze was having an affair with a girl residing near Riyaz’s house in Kandivli. Riyaz too liked the girl but apparently the girl in question had snubbed him and gone for Firoze. This had become a sore point with Riyaz and apparently Jeetu spared no opportunity to tease Riyaz over this.
On Friday night however, when the two argued again over the girl, an angry Riyaz stabbed Jeetu on the thigh with a knife he was carrying in his pocket. While there was no deep cut, a vein was cut off leading to Jeetu losing blood rapidly. He was rushed to a local hospital but died soon after. Riyaz has been arrested by the Kandivli police and a case of murder has been registered against him. He has been remanded to police custody till Monday.
