Justin Bieber may have forgotten to acknowledge a sea of fans outside the Mumbai airport on Tuesday night, but that hardly dampened the spirit of city Beliebers, who kept chanting the pop icon's name throughout his concert last evening.

"I love everything about his music — especially his songwriting," said 16-year-old Riya Bhatia, a commerce student of HR College, who attended the live gig along with a college-mate. This JB loyalist bought her VVIP (3) pass for Rs 38,000 the day tickets were up for sale. "He is a humble person too. He takes part in community service and initiatives where he surprises fans."

Priyal Shah, 19, and her college friends managed to buy Silver section tickets just hours before the gig started — after her mother finally allowed her to attend the event. "I would have come anyway," she chuckled. "I have heard all his earlier songs like Baby and Mistletoe, but didn't really fall in love with them. But his new album, Purpose, has great tunes. Let me love you, What do you mean and Sorry are my favourites."

Priyal was quick to add that although she doesn't really find him cute, she always liked his music. Her friend Durant Dias (20), a singer, cheekily chipped in to say, "The first time I heard him, I thought he was a female artiste. But as he grew up, his voice changed and I started liking him more. He is versatile." Asked if he thinks Justin Bieber has already attained 'music legend' status, Dias nodded in agreement.

Niyati Arya was also among those who bought a ticket at the eleventh hour. "I've been listening to him since his first song, Baby. He's so cute," the 20-year-old said. For Akanksha Kaushik, 20, it was her second JB live concert — she had attended the one in Dubai last week. "This has to be one of the biggest pop culture moments for Mumbai. Fans from different parts of India have come to see him perform, so I wasn't particularly surprised at the ticket rates."
