Mumbai: Model deposes in rape case against actor Inder Kumar
A 25-year-old model, who had accused actor Inder Kumar of raping her twice in 2014, deposed at a special women’s court on Thursday.

The model had registered an FIR against Kumar in April 2014, alleging that the actor had raped and brutally assaulted her twice in a period of three days by promising her lead roles in Bollywood movies. According to a source present yesterday, she told the court about the whole incident and also identified Kumar as the one who assaulted her.
The charges filed against Kumar were framed by the same court presided over by Special Judge A S Shende. Kumar is being tried under Sections 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506(ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
The model had, in the past, claimed that she had been assaulted and hit with a beer bottle and confined at the actor’s house in suburban Andheri for a night. She had burn wounds on her body and she claimed the actor burnt her with cigarettes.
