The Kandivali police have arrested a 63-year-old man for allegedly molesting and raping a 7-year-old minor girl inside his shanty on Wednesday. The accused allegedly raped the minor girl on the pretext of offering her a chocolate.
The accused in the case has been identified as Anamullah Khan, who used to stay alone at north Mumbai suburb of Kandivali (West). On the day of the tragic incident, the girl was playing when the accused lured the girl to his residence on the pretext of giving her chocolate and later raped her. The accused after committing the crime left the girl and ran away. The girl narrated the entire incident to her parents after reaching her residence.
The suvivor's mother was not in condition to say anything to the police officers.
The minor girl after being taken to hospital told the doctors that Khan uncle had done something with her. On finding injury marks on her private part, the parents reported the matter with the police.
A medical examination confirmed that she had been raped.
Based on the complaint lodged by the girl's mother, a case under section 376 (rape) was registered against Khan who was later arrested. He has been booked under various sections of IPC including 354, 354 D, 376 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act. He was produced before the court, which sent him to police custody till March 18.
