With an aim to encourage office cricket, the Mumbai Police have taken an initiative to host the inaugural Police Commissioner's T20 Cup under lights at the Police Gymkhana, Charni Road, from May 5 to 20.
Eight teams will be participating in this tournament, informed Mumbai’s Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik during a press conference at the Garware Club, Churchgate yesterday. u00a0
Patnaik assured the competition to be top-notch. “We may make some mistakes in organising this, but I am sure the competition will be tough. All the teams participating have professional cricketers playing for them.

So, the intensity will also be great,” he said. Meanwhile, former India pacer Sanjay Bangar, who represents Western Railways, requested Patnaik to improve the quality of lights at the Police Gymkhana. “It would be better if we had good quality lights as the current lighting is not suitable for a high-profile tournament,” he said.
