Parents of the 19-year-old mentally-challenged girl took her to the psychiatrist when she started protesting the presence of their 24-year-old domestic help, who had been working for them for 12 years
A psychiatrist helped a 19-year-old mentally challenged girl convey to her parents that she had been raped and molested repeatedly by their trusted servant, who had been working for the family for the past 12 years.

The man had been appointed specifically to care for the girl and her siblings. The Malad police have now arrested the 24-year-old domestic help.
According to the Malad police, the survivor’s parents, who live in a highrise at Bangur Nagar, approached them on Tuesday night, after her psychiatrist informed them that she had spoken about being raped by their house help, a man named Baulal Dodiar.
According to the police, the family recently moved into a new residence in Bangur Nagar from their earlier home in Malad. While the girl’s parents would leave for their office at Andheri, Dodiar was given the task of caring for their three children – the teenaged girl, her 12-year-old sister and four-year-old brother.
Dodiar had been working at a tea stall near the couple’s office 12 years ago, before they hired him. After the family shifted to Bangur Nagar, the girl had conveyed to her parents that she was unhappy about his presence in the home.
A police officer investigating the case said, “Since the girl could not express herself, the couple took her to a psychiatrist to understand why she was having problems with Dodiar, after the man had been working for them for 12 years,” said an officer.
“While speaking to the psychiatrist, the teenager revealed that Dodiar had raped her twice, and molested her many times over the past few months. The psychiatrist informed this to the girl’s parents,” said Balsingh Rajput, deputy commissioner of police (zone XI).
Based on a complaint registered by the couple, the police registered an FIR against Dodiar and arrested him for rape under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
