The duo was issued showcause notices last week after Yadav used abusive language during a Ranji Trophy match inside the dressing room, while Sarfaraz is believed to have made an indecent gesture at the opponents during Mumbai’s U-19 match at the Bandra Kurla Complex.

However, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) decided to hand the pair a reprieve after they apologised to the disciplinary committee yesterday, according to a source. They also assured the committee that such incidents would not be repeated in the future.

“The committee won’t punish them this time and they will be considered for the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament,” a source told mid-day.
