Three people were arrested for allegedly passing lewd comments at a Polish woman
The Shahu Nagar police officials in Dharavi have arrested three people for passing lewd comments directed at a Polish woman on Thursday.
According to the police officials, two of the three accused are minors while the third has been identified as Abubakar Ansari, 19. They said that the Polish national works with an NGO and is in the city for a three month project, for which she had to visit the Shahu Nagar area on a regular basis.
A police official said, “The trio saw her and passed some offensive comment. She reported the matter and a team was dispatched to arrest them.”
One of the three accused was arrested from the spot while the other two were arrested from Dharavi. A case has been registered under Sections 509 (act, word or gesture intended to outrage a woman’s modesty) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance) of the Indian Penal Code.
