Kamal Kapadia says the low voter turnout proves citizens have given up on politicians

The regular infiltration of people into Mumbai and the lack of additional infrastructure facilities to accommodate them have added to the average Mumbaikar's woes. There is increasing water scarcity, a severe power crisis and dusty traffic congestion in the country's financial capital and the Centre is least bothered about it.

The security at railway stations, airports and other entry check points, which were beefed up after the 26/11 attacks, have since been relaxed, making this city once again vulnerable to terror attacks.

Carefree
Mumbaikars have learnt to get on with their lives come what may, whether the Centre is ruled by any partysecular or non secular, whether public safety measures are self assuring or not, or whether the snail paced traffic allows them to reach their destinations or not.

The people in this city have become immune to all kinds of situations. Even if they fall, they know that the very next moment they will stand up and start walking. Kudos to Mumbaikars!
