Smruti aka Eshu Badera, who was kidnapped
According to the police, the incident took place around 8.30 am on Saturday when the toddler, Smruti alias Eshu Balsingh Badera, followed her aunt to the bathroom in a neighbouring building. An officer from VB Nagar police station said, “The victim is the daughter of a watchman, Balsingh, who works in Kantaria Mahal building near Naaz hotel in Kurla, and the whole family stays in the watchman’s room in the building.”
In the morning, Smruti’s aunt went to bathe in the nearby building and the toddler followed her. Police said while the aunt was taking a bath, Smruti stood in a lane adjacent to LBS Marg, where two women — believed to be around 50 and 18 — who had a 10-year-old in tow, arrived, and smooth talked Smruti into going with them.

The VB Nagar police have registered the case under Section 363 (Kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code and teams have been formed to nab the culprits.
