A 45-year-old woman has registered a case of gang rape, cheating, assault and mental harassment against 12 men including her husband, two of his friends and stepsons. In the case registered with the Dindoshi police station, the complainant has alleged torture and rape for a period that spans several years.

According to the FIR, the complainant divorced her first husband in 2004, after which she met Mohammad Aslam Khan, the primary accused. Khan told her that he was a very religious man and promised to keep her very happy.

The two got married and moved into a flat in Santacruz. Later, the couple moved to Khan’s home in Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh where she discovered that Khan was already married.

The complainant was locked up, assaulted, and tortured repeatedly. One of Khan’s children, named Amir, also forced himself on her on several occasions. The complainant said that she managed to make her way back to Mumbai, and started living at her maternal home in Dindoshi.

On one day, when she was alone at home, Khan barged into her home along with two of his friends. The three men then took turns to rape her. The repeated atrocities finally prompted her to approach a lawyer and file a case against Khan, his family members, and the two friends.

A police officer from Dindoshi police station said, “We have registered case under sections 376, 420, 498, 323, 506 of the IPC. We have not made any arrest yet; we are verifying the allegations.”
