Shantaram stays at Kajupada and works as a nurse in a private hospital in Nalasopara. Geeta is a housewife. The couple had been fighting regularly over several issues. On Thursday evening when Shantaram came home, he saw his wife was beating up their daughter. He told her to stop and an argument began. In a fit of rage his wife poured boiling oil on Shantaram. He sustained 70% burns and his condition is serious. We are trying to record his statement. The FIR will be registered soon.”
