The BNHS’ Conservation Education Centre (CEC) will conduct its popular Citizen Science Programme at the Nature Interpretation Centre (NIC) at Borivali from June 15 onwards.

This year-long initiative involves exciting and highly interactive biodiversity surveys.

The Citizen Science Programme gives an opportunity to wannabe scientists and naturalists to play the role of a data collector for a day.

The surveys will include plants, birds, insects, reptiles, amphibians and other animals.

Even amateurs can join to work along with experts. A report will be published at the end of the programme, which will acknowledge all participants.

Participants will be able to learn, observe and analyse date in a scientific manner and will be taught the use of field guides, data sheets and GPS gadgets.

Furthermore, there will be hardcore outdoor studies with experts during three different seasons along with a few nature trails in SGNP.

These surveys are meant to address three research parameters of species diversity, species abundance and species seasonality.
