With over 6,000 participantsu00a0 at the BSA Hercules India Cyclothon ufffd Mumbai 2011, the city reinforced itsu00a0 support for a greener and cleaner tomorrow. The event organised jointly by Sport18, the sports marketing division of Network18 group and TI Cycles witnessed 118 participants for the elite national race, 2871 cyclists for LG Green Ride, 1632 entries for the corporate ride, 1651 participants for the Dabur Nutrigo total amateur's ride for health and 768 young cyclists for the junior ride.

Amandeep from the Indian Railways won the elite race with 28 points and pocketed the prize money of Rs 1.5 lakhs while Rakesh Kumar also from the Indian Railways came in second with 12 points earning Rs 80,000 and Delhi's Sachin Kumar won the third place with 11 points and the Rs 60,000 cash award.

Lending his support to the initiative was honorable chief minister, Prithviraj Chavan, who inaugurated the MMRDA cycling track. In attendance,u00a0were people from all walks of lif, including actor Imran Khan,u00a0 present to support theu00a0charity of animal welfare, Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria, Formula One racer Karun Chandok and young politicians Milind Deora and Priya Dutt among others.
The India Cyclothon has previously held successful editions in Delhi, Bangalore Pune and Chandigarh across the last 12 months.
