Andy Murray's home town was celebrated yesterday after the Scot powered through to his second Grand Slam final.
Fans in Dunblane, Perthshire, are now making plans for parties to watch their local hero battle to win the Australian Open on Sunday morning.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Scotland First Minister Alex Salmond led the tributes after Murray beat Marin Cilic in four sets in the semi-final of the tournament in Melbourne.
Murray's grandparents, Roy and Shirley Erskine, watched the match together at home and were delighted with the result. Roy said: "It was quite exciting. We don't allow anyone else in the house while watching a match like that, because it is a very personal thing."
The match started at 8.30am and most bars in Dunblane don't open until late morning, so fans had to watch at home.
The Dunblane Hotel opened at 11am and people strolled in to watch. Owner Tom McLean said they have obtained a licence to open from 8am on Sunday to showcase the final.
