Experience soul-stirring music by two of the greatest classical music maestros of India -- Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan -- at Sa Va Ni Sur Sangeet organisation's annual music performance Swarchaitanya on December 3. The last time the two maestros performed in the city was in 1985.

Talking about bringing together two of music's greats as a casting coup of sorts, Surendra Mohite, the founder of Sa Va Ni Sur Sangeet, says, "The sole aim of our organisation is to bring the best of classical music while keeping a good cause in mind. For some reason bringing together renowned artists is a difficult task, but for almost seven years now we have been doing it."

In the past, the organisation had featured musicians such as Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. The proceeds from the ticket sales will be given to various NGOs that strive for the betterment of underprivileged sections of society. "Some of the funds will be contributed to the Sa Va Ni Foundation while most of the proceeds will be given to different NGOs like Milind Bhoi's Mamta Foundation. Previously Renutai Gavaskar and Sindhutai Sakpal have received the proceeds from the Sa Na Vi foundation," adds Mohite. So, take a day off and enjoy the music for a cause.
