Dear Diana, I am furious about my bonus. I worked hard all year long and my sales targets were great too ufffd in fact the best I've ever had. I had a high evaluation from my boss and co-workers.
But when I was told of the low figure I’ll be getting, I didn’t complain because my boss assured me he had worked hard to give me as much as possible and I was getting more than people senior to me. I now find that others with worse performance got far more money. It seems the reason I was passed over was that he knew I would not make a fuss. Is it too late to raise hell? Can I mention others’ bonuses, although they are supposed to be confidential?

Dear Aakar,
You have woken up rather late in the day. There is no point raising a stink after it has all been done. Your boss is taking you for granted. He knows you will not crib so he can by pass you. But for the trouble makers he will bend as they are the ones who will create problems for him. Age, qualifications, performance does not matter my dear. It is all about the rapport you share with the boss. You can cry things are unfair but nothing will move. You can confront your boss and give him a piece of your mind but chances are that it will backfire on you. But at least make him aware of what you feel. So be patient and let your work do the talking. If you think the place is getting uncomfortable for you, start looking for a job elsewhere.u00a0
