Dear Diana, My boyfriend is a gem but I find his habit of burping disgusting.
I don’t mind him burping as much as the people around who turn their heads in his direction and give dirty looks. But he doesn’t give a damn about people and that’s what is more irritating. I’ve told him several times about it but he just doesn’t care. How do I tell him to stop embarrassing me in public?

If your guy can’t be bothered and really doesn’t care about how you feel when he burps, then you need to make it clear that it is a disgusting habit. Tell him you will stop going out for meals with him. Some guys think it is hilarious to burp loudly and often chuckle after doing so. Everyone burps at some point but everyone can suppress the loudness of it somewhat and then say excuse me. Tell him burping is not funny and that people snigger behind his back.u00a0
