My boyfriend thinks I am cheating on him

Dear Diana,
I'm 21, and I love my boyfriend a lot! We've been together for four years now and he thinks I'm cheating on him with my ex!! The problem is, he is very jealous. He doesn't like it evenu00a0 when I talk to other guys. I don't like it too when he talks to other girls but he still does.

One day, I was swimming and he couldn't reach me, so he called my cousin and she laughed and said that I was in the pool with my ex. Within a few minutes, he changed his Facebook relationship status to single. Since then, all we do is argue about this.

He says he loves me, then he starts arguing with me and accusing me of something I never did!!u00a0 I think he doesn't trust me. He's not the same anymore.

He always tries to make me jealous by saying "that girl is hot", "this girl is sexy."u00a0 I miss the way we were before. Should I keep trying or leave him alone and move on?

CP
Dear CP,

I think both of you are too immature to have a serious long-term relationship. If you play childish games to try and make each other jealous then there isn't much left in the relationship.

It's more than likely that since you started your relationship at such a young age (you were only 17 then), both of you have outgrown each other and are ready to move on.

Your boyfriend seems to be looking for an excuse (your cousin and ex story) to ditch you so he can finally date some other woman without feeling guilty.

All the signs are there tou00a0 prove he's immature. Guys who are jealous never change. It just gets worse with time. I agree it's time to ditch him and move on.

No man ever calls me...

Dear Diana,

I am a very frustrated 29-year-oldu00a0 woman. I have given my number to numerous men, but they never call me. When I meet them, they seem very interested in me, but they never call. I want to be in a casual relationship. Any advice?

Saloni
Dear Saloni,

Do you wait for the guys to ask for your number, or do you just hand it out? I think you want to be in a relationship so bad that you come across as needy, which always puts off guys. Men like women who are confident, smart and speak well. Change your approach, your luck might change too.

How do I make my boyfriend's parents like me?

Dear Diana,

I have been dating this guy for three months. We work in the same office and we are each other's soulmates. I know it sounds rushed, but it is true. He has met my parents and now he wants me to meet his parents. I do want to meet them but I think they won't like me.

They are much more affluent than my family is, and I am really a simple girl. My last boyfriend's parents did not like me because I didn't wear trendy clothes, shoes and jewellery.

What should I do? What do I wear? How should I act? And what should I say? any tips at all will be helpful.

Farida
Dear Farida,

Simplicity is the essence of beauty. Fashionable clothes, shoes and jewellery don't make a woman. Your guy doesn't love you for what you wear.

He loves you for who you are, and I am sure his family will too. Don't worry. In life, go by one rule: Just be yourself. Don't try to be something you are not because you cannot keep up that act for ever and eventually, people will call you a fake. Be who you are, and if people don't like you, too bad.

Just because the parents of your previous boyfriend were superficial doesn't mean this guy's parents will hate you. Wear whatever you are comfortable in and carry something for them, as you are going to their home for the first time. Your boyfriend can help you with ideas on what to get for them.
