Amy Winehouse’s mother has bravely spoken about the last time she saw her daughter before she tragically passed away in 2011.
Reliving her painful memories, Janis revealed that she had gone to the singer’s house in Camden to pay her a visit. But almost as soon as she arrived, she wanted to walk, right back out again as the star’s house “reeked of alcohol”.

As Janis made her way inside the property, she saw broken bottles of white wine everywhere. But that was nothing compared to the state she was about to see her 27-year-old daughter in. She had been greeted at the door by Amy’s bodyguard Andrew Morris, who asked her to wait downstairs whilst he fetched the star from her bedroom.
According to Janis, her daughter was so drunk that Andrew had to physically carry her daughter down the stairs.
At the time, Janis remembers that her daughter was clutching a collection of family photographs. But as she slurred her words, the intoxicated singer dropped them all on the floor. “I couldn’t sit there and watch her like that,” she tearfully admitted.
The following day on July 23 2011, the star was found dead at her home.
