World No 2 Rafael Nadal cruised through to the last 16 at the ATP/WTA Miami Masters tournament on Sunday. Nadal continued his domination over Czech Radek Stepanek with a straight forward 6-2, 6-2 victory in a third round match on centre court.

Nadal advances to face Japan's Kei Nishikori who breezed past Czech Lukas Rosol 6-4, 6-2. In the women's singles, No 2 seed Maria Sharapova of Russia became the first quarter-finalist with a 6-4, 7-6 win over compatriot Ekaterina Makarova.
Meanwhile, top seed Victoria Azarenka defeated wildcard Heather Wilson 6-0, 6-2, in the third round.
