After the success of his 2010 film, Udaan, Rajat Barmecha was believed to have become a star overnight. But he didn't feature in any major project post that.

Last year, he was seen in a web series titled Girl In The City. "I have been shuttling between Mumbai and the rest of the world. I am an avid traveller. I did the first season of Girl In The City for Anand Tiwari, because we worked together in Udaan. When he called me for the cameo, I couldn't refuse," says Rajat.

So, has he given up on the Bollywood dream? "Even if I give up on Bollywood, it will never give up on me, because acting is my passion. Films will always be [on my mind]. The only thing I am not doing is television because it requires a different skill set."

Talking about his next, Rajat says, "It is tentatively titled, Leader. Imtiaz Ali is presenting the film and his associate Rajesh Tibrewal is directing it. We have finished shooting, patch work, dubbing and music. It should be ready in the next few months. The film traces the journey of a boy, and that's a story I identify with. When I signed the film, Imtiaz wasn't involved in it."

The actor adds that he has never been out of work although he may have been out of news. After Udaan, he acted in Disco Valley, which unfortunately didn't see the light of day. "I don't know what happened to that project. It was an amazing film, though. We shot it in 23 days."

Owing to the reception Udaan got, he received several offers, but claims to have declined a couple since he was being selective. "I am good at saying no. I am honest; if I don't like something, I tell them [filmmakers] truthfully," says the actor.
