Nanocon 2010, an international conference on nanotechnology was organised by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University at Le Meridien on Wednesday and Thursday.u00a0The meet focussed on research and development, technology, management, innovations in nanotechnology, investment policies, and global opportunities. The conference saw a huge participation from foreign universities including NCSU, University of Huston, Tuskegee University, among others. The seminar was a platform for the academicians, scientists, engineers, and industrialists from all over the world to come together and interact and share their views about nanotechnology.u00a0

u00a0"We have established 20 centres of excellence in the country on nanotechnology so far, which have been functioning successfully. We have decided to further boost the funding through an amount of Rs 4000 cores which will be spent in next five years for the development of the sector," said Prithviraj Chavan, minister for science and technology and earth science.
