A diamond and sapphire studded gold ring that Napoleon Bonaparte gave to his first wife Josephine de Beauharnais is estimated to be sold for $20,000 (Rs 11 crore) at the Osenat auction house in Fontainebleau, France.
The ring has the two teardrop shaped jewels facing in opposite directions.
The blue sapphire and diamond each have a carat-weight a little less than one carat.

Osenat’s website said that the ring is estimated to sell in the range of $13,000 to $20,000. When Napoleon met Josephine in September 1795, she was a 32-year-old widow with two kids.
The couple got married on March 9, 1796, just before he left to take over the French Army in Italy and divorced in 1810. u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0u00a0
