Natasha Fernandes, who makes her Bollywood debut with Suneel Darshan's upcoming musical romance-mystery, 'Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha', is still coming to terms with the fact that her childhood dream of becoming a Hindi film heroine is finally coming true. The actress has put minimal effort in achieving this feat.
"People told me to try my luck in Hindi films. I also nursed the dream since childhood, but didn't know how to achieve it. I belong to a simple, middle-class family, and have no connections in the industry," says Natasha.
But then, luck smiled on her when producer-director Suneel Darshan, who was looking for a fresh face for his next film, opposite son Shiv, spotted her at a Bandra eatery. He offered her the lead role.
"I was unable to believe that this was happening," says Natasha, adding, "I have seen most of Suneelji's films and was left speechless. But, when he called me to his office for the look test the following day, I realised that it was all real."
Natasha's friends were excited, but her family had reservations about allowing their only daughter to work in films. "But, when they met Suneelji, they were more at ease. Suneelji told my mother and father that he will look after me, just like he would his daughter, which he really did."
She adds, "Working on this film was a fantastic experience. I am really blessed to make my debut with it. Shiv is very talented. He is a helpful co-star, and we struck a friendship immediately. Also, I find him very hot!"
