Nawazuddin Siddiqui has one more film in his kitty. The Kahaani and Gangs of Wasseypur actor has greenlighted a Hindi film to be made by Bengali film director Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
The National award winning filmmaker, known on the festival circuit, has apparently been pretty impressed by Nawaz’s histrionics. He decided to make a film with him in Hindi though originally he had planned to make the same project in Bengali.
Says Nawaz, “Yes. I have signed the film and will start shooting in March. It will be shot in Kolkata.”
The film has him essay a simple middle-class man who also doubles as a detective.
Adds Nawaz, “I shot for Kahaani in Kolkata and for this project I will be again in the City of Joy. I am looking forward to it.”
Dasgupta’s who has made Hindi films like Andhi Gali in 1984 with Deepti Naval and the children’s film Woh is best known for the much-celebrated and National award winner Bagh Bahadur with Pavan Malhotra.
