NCP leader's daughter 'murdered' by husband

Senior Nationalist Congress Party leader Ramrao Wadkute’s daughter was found dead at her residence in Thergaon in the wee hours of Monday. u00a0Vaishali Thorat (26) was allegedly killed by her husband Vijay at their residence in Sollanaa Society, Thergaon.

After Vaishali’s killing, Vijay allegedly attempted suicide twice. He was admitted to a private hospital after he tried to cut his wrist at Shlok lodge near Dange chowk.u00a0Vaishali’s father lodged a complaint of murder against the Thorat family, including Vaishali’s father-in-law Sambhaji, mother-in-law and brother-in-law Pramod.

According to the statement given by Wadkute, the Thorat family had been harassing Vaishali for money.u00a0Officials of the Hinjewadi police station said Vijay, who worked in the software industry, hanged Vaishali from the fan of their bedroom on Sunday afternoon.

They said he then attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills, but did not succeed. They said he then tried to cut his wrist. Vijay was admitted to the Sai Jyoti hospital.u00a0

The police said Vaishali’s body was brought to the Aundh civil hospital for an autopsy. Vinayak More, civil surgeonu00a0at Aundh civil hospital, said: “The autopsy report reveals the cause of death to be strangulation. Her body was taken to Parbhani by her father Ramrao Wadkute after the autopsy.” u00a0The police arrested Vijay’s brother Pramod. A police team was sent to Parbhani for further investigation. u00a0
