New Delhi: The Nationalist Congress Party on Tuesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its 'U-turn' on the promise of 'achhe din'.
'The BJP coined the slogan of 'achhe din' in the Lok Sabha elections. The people believed in them and voted for them, now if they are denying the same then it is a mockery of the people of this nation,' said NCP Leader Tariq Anwar.
'The leaders of BJP have now started denying promises that they made before the elections saying those were just an election promise' he added.
Union Minister for Steel and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar had on Monday said the BJP had never said "achhe din ayenge".
Talking to the media in Indore, Tomar said the slogan was coined by the people on social media during the Lok Sabha elections last year.
