Days after cricketer Gautam Gambhir said the martyrs of Uri attack deserve a biopic rather than any cricketer, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' director Neeraj Pandey says a filmmaker should talk about every issue.

Gambhir recently posted a tweet that the 17 soldiers who were killed in the terrorist attack in Uri deserved a biopic as they are the best inspiration of those who laid their lives for the country.

The cricketer also uploaded a picture with a quote taken from an earlier interview, criticising making film on the lives of cricketers.

When asked about this, Neeraj told reporters, "I've made films on both. We make stories. It's not that every film should be of particular genre or anything like that. I think as storytellers we need to talk about everything."

"This story is about the hero in us. It's a very motivational inspiring story. That can come from anyone. And MS (Dhoni) is a serving Lt Colonel in the Indian Army. So that should answer your questions," he said.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays the titular role in "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story", feels it all depends on whether a story is worth telling or not.

"Films are made on stories. I've played an engineer five times in theatre. The story wasn't on engineer, but the inherent story. If the story is worth telling, then you can play anything," he said.

The duo was speaking at the launch of "Har Gully Mein Dhoni" song. The "Baby" helmer said the idea behind the special music video was to celebrate the film and give an ode to Dhoni.

Neeraj also said that Dhoni has seen the film and liked it. "We both were silent for about ten minutes after we had seen the film. That goes to say he must've liked it. There was nothing to say," he said.

The film is set to release on September 30.
