The Indian shooting contingent at the ISSF World Cup Shooting in Dorset, UK, complained of being harassed on multiple occasions by tournament staff, yesterday. The word from the contingent was that the organisers created fuss over payment of tournament fees and hotel rooms and members of the contingent were humiliated.
Two days back two female shooters were forced off the bus ferrying them from the hotel to the venue for some silly excuse.

Former India shooter, Deepali Deshpande, speaking to MiD DAY explained, "See, you have to understand that our cultures are very different. Also after 9/11 the mindset has changed. Socially the minds of the general public are very polluted and that affects a lot."
But she also said that in her more than 60 international outings she never experienced anything like this. However, she was quick to add that generalising on this subject would be unfair.
It has been learnt that sports minister, M S Gill, has called for an urgent meeting with ministry officials and directed them to get in touch with the National Rifle Association and the Indian High Commission in London.
The Indian team manager M Padmanabhan has also written to the Indian High Commissioner in London to look into the matter.
