It's festive season and that's reason enough to indulge. The Guide tells you about four new stores in the city. Go on, splurge...

My dress box, Khar
After more than 17 years in the "film production business" Komesh Rohira decided to make the move from film to fashion, six weeks ago. The result? My Dress Box, which he defines as a "box full of stylish clothes".

Komesh, along with wife Sonia, sources what he deems "trendy Western wear", and accessories including bags and belts. Prices range from Rs 750 to Rs 1,500 for tops; Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,500 for dresses and Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,800 for bags. Is bling still in? We'd think so.

Parimal Society, Shop No.4, Ground Floor, 17th Road, Khar (W).
Landmark: just around the corner from Neelam's Foodland. Open all days from 11 am to 9 pm

Stanley lifestyles, worli
One of India's largest upholstery chains, Stanley Lifestyles gets you to try out cushy sofas and inviting recliners in one of the five living rooms, nine living-cum-dining rooms and two home theatre rooms it encloses. Spread across 15,000 sq ft, the newly-opened flagship store of the genuine leather upholstery brand at Atria gives you a feel of how it would be to 'dress up' your home with their furniture, by asking you to experience it all first-hand. Lifestyle products and accessories for home and office make up for the rest of the sprawling space.

SHIMMER, WORLI
When Trupti Patel moved from USA to aamchi Mumbai, she had one grievance -- the city offered nothing to appeal to her fashion sense. So what Trupti did is get a whole of lesser-known European brands -- Saint Tropez, Numph, Lenev, Frequent and Ichi -- together and stock them at her store at Atria Mall.
You are bound to stumble upon a lot of pastel summer clothing here, in sync with the weather we face most of the year. The shimmer, thankfully, is relegated to a one-off top. Why would we suggest making a trip to this mall in this maddening traffic? All items are marked at a flat Rs 800 with an additional promotion of Buy 3 and Get 1 free. Now that's a happy, happy Diwali.

Fungus ,Bandra
We wonder why anyone would call their labour of love Fungus. It's mouldy, often infectious and symbolises decay to most of us. But for Beena Noronha, Fungus is what would hopefully grow on you. Not literally, of course. At her store, Beena has designed her own range of loud slogan tees (I am not a b****.

I am just giftedly outspoken) priced at Rs 399. Check out luggage tags (Rs 199) that sport threats-- Don't touch me b**** and Back Off (yes, a lot of the B word doing the rounds). Accessories and wallets are on display. SpongeBob fans will have a field day here -- the sea sponge makes appearances on tees, bags and other stuff. For Diwali, these guys are selling you a pretty string of lights dangling lamps enclosed in shapes of a moon, stars and some geometrical designs (Rs 499). There are also some old world tin alarm clocks (Rs 350 onwards).
