No entry for Slumdog kids?

THE Slumdog Millionaire stories refuse to die down. The children from the cast were in the middle of another controversy when they were reportedly denied entry at a film award function on Saturday night.

Eyewitnesses said that they saw Rubina Ali (little Latika), Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail (little Salim) and Ayush Mahesh Khedekar (little Jamal) stand with their families for almost two hours outside the venue, waiting to be let in. Mehul Vohra, head of security agency CATS, said, "I'm unaware of this, but we were given standing instructions not to allow anyone, celebrity or non-celebrity, below the age of 18 to be let in because they were serving alcohol at the venue."

While our Oscar-feted actors allegedly waited on the red carpet, Bollywood stars breezed past them into the function. The children shook hands with Vidya Balan and their Slumdog Millionaire co-star Irrfan Khan who commented, "There seems to be a lack of co-ordination." But the problem was later solved. The children were let in and were able to watch the rest of the function.
