While it was expected that the Indian team management would rest M S Dhoni for the forthcoming ODI series in Zimbabwe, the BCCI in its press release did not even find it worth mentioning that their World Cup-winning skipper has been rested.
The Board’s media release did have a mention of “Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav” being rested, but there was no reference to Dhoni.

An official word was out only when the BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel was asked in an impromptu media interaction outside the Cricket Centre yesterday. “Yes, Dhoni has also been rested,” Patel told reporters. There was no statement on the skipper’s injury status too. So much for transparency!
