'Nobody disputes the quality of the First Lady'

Barack Obama paid tribute to wife Michelle — and then danced the night away at the official inauguration ball. Just hours after being sworn in for his second term as US president, he told a celeb-packed audience, “Some may dispute the quality of our president, no-one disputes the quality of our First Lady”.

The couple then took to the floor for their first dance as Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson sang Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together.

After their dance, Michelle tweeted “@FLOTUS Just danced to“Let’s Stay Together” with the love of my life and the President of the United States. I’m so proud of Barack. –mo”u00a0Other stars included Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, who changed her hit Girl On Fire to sing, “He’s the president and he’s on fire...Obama’s on fire. Obama’s on fire.”

Michelle Obama wore a custom-made Jason Wu ruby-coloured dress to the inaugural balls. Earlier at the inauguration, the president said every citizen deserved a basic measure of security and dignity, and held up healthcare and social security as that strengthen the country.

Radiant in red
US First Lady Michelle Obama made a daring decision to return to the same designer who created her Inaugural Ball dress four years ago — and the risk paid off. The First Lady looked stunning in a sweeping, velvet and chiffon, ruby-colored dress by designer Jason Wu.

She teamed the dramatic gown with heels by Jimmy Choo and a diamond ring by Kimberly McDonald. The dress with low-cut back flattered 49-year-old Michelle's toned arms and neat waist.

The ceremonial lunch Obama and his colleagues ate topped out at 3,000 calories. HealthyFoodRecipe.net said it was “unsatisfactory” to see such an unhealthy spread, given First Lady Michelle Obama’s push for healthy eating.
Here’s what they ate:
