Women also directed to keep hair short in a bob cut like his wife
Washington DC: Men in North Korea have been ordered to keep their hair like their supreme leader Kim Jong-un. The order requires men to keep their hair no longer than two centimetres and cut it in Kim’s style.
The women have been ordered to keep their hairstyle like Kim’s wife, Ri Sol-ju, in the form of a bob cut. Only performers are allowed to grow their hair long. The government officials are patrolling the streets and forcibly cutting the hair of offenders on the spot.
Kim’s hairstyle has been the target of mockery over the years. He keeps it cleanly shaved at the sides and back. The length at the top is slicked back at jutting angles.
In North Korea, the trademark sweptback bouffant with shaved sides is known as the ‘ambitious’ style and men have been instructed to pay homage to their leader with the hairstyle.
