Madrid: Real Madrid star striker Cristiano Ronaldo seemed proud of himself and stressed at the same time that he 'was born to be the best', adding that 'not even God managed to please the entire world' in response to the debate between his fans and critics.
In an interview with LatAm magazine El Papel, which is to be published on Sunday, Ronaldo said, "We cannot live being obsessed with what other people think about us. It's impossible to live like that. Not even God managed to please the entire world."
The Portuguese football icon said that he will enjoy himself even more when he retires, but highlighted that there are still years ahead of him, reports Efe.
"If this is what I am, if everything I've achieved in football has been for this, I couldn't possibly ask for anything else. If you offer me an improvement, I'd accept it, but change is very complicated," Ronaldo added.
