Ramdev's assertion comes a day after union Home Minister and senior Congress leader Sushilkumar Shinde had said in Delhi: "The prime ministerial candidate can be announced by anyone like Ramu, Shamu, Damu... our leader is Rahul Gandhi."

"Those who have been given the responsibility (to run the government) are plundering the country," the yoga guru, here to attend the 80th birthday function of BJP MP Shanta Kumar, said.

Pushing for Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP, the yoga guru said: "Modi is the right choice to restore the confidence of people in political leadership and put an end to anarchy."

"The post of prime minister is crucial at this juncture, when the people have lost faith in the political leadership and virtual anarchy prevails in the country."

Ramdev said: "A mass movement against corruption, and also to oust the corrupt UPA government will be launched tomorrow (Friday), but informally, it has started from here today."

"Advani is the tallest leader of the party, and has made valuable contributions to the party. But people now believe that Modi is the right choice to lead the country," Ramdev said, when asked about the reservations of BJP's veteran leader L.K. Advani to projecting Modi as prime ministerial candidate.u00a0
