Filmmaker Nikhil Advani is planning to venture into the small screen. The buzz is that he is keen to direct and produce a television series with a Bollywood star. Though he is currently directing the remake of the 1983 film, Hero, with newcomers Sooraj Panscholi and Athiya Shetty, he is also in talks for his telly outing.
Says a source, “A narration with the channel has already been held. The project is in its initial stages and several ideas have been tossed around. As soon as he completes his film, he will pay full attention to his TV project.”
According to the buzz, Advani is keen to have Rishi Kapoor in his show. The veteran actor has featured in Advani’s films like D-Day (2013) and Patiala House (2011). Adds the source, “He is keen to have Rishi Kapoor star in it, but it is unclear if the actor has given his nod.
It appears that the actor was not too keen to be part of a TV series. The cast is yet to be finalised.” Looks like the Kal Ho Naa Ho director, much like other B-Town folk, is also keen to explore the small screen medium. Advani remained unavailable for comment.
